AT THE MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES PLAYOFF GAME, USHER & JA MORANT’S FATHER REALIZES THEY’RE LONG-LOST ‘TWINS.’

The long-awaited cooperative basketball event took place courtside at the FedEx Forum on Tuesday night (April 26).

When Usher and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, were shown on the Lookalike Cam’s jumbotron during the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves’ first-round playoff game, they were sitting next to each other in virtually identical attire.

Everyone had been making the analogies humorously in the past, so Usher had to pull over and enjoy a beautiful view of the Grizzlies’ amazing Game 5 comeback victory against the Wolves, where Ja Morant led the Grizzlies to a 111-109 triumph.

“Had to See What the Hype was about,” Usher wrote.

On social media, fans reacted positively to the collaboration, with Usher trending during the game. “Now that’s what I call Raymond V Raymond,” one fan said.

Memphis native Juicy J enjoyed himself after the huge win and hopped into the Grizzlies’ Instagram comment section as well, writing, “I herd usher had stock in the grizz that’s a smart mane go grizzz I need some stock. Great game mane y’all killed it I got wasted after the game that’s why I’m still up in yo comments.”

Ja Morant sparked an unbelievable comeback by scoring the Grizzlies’ last 13 points, including a game-winning layup and this thunderous slam. He ended with a team-high 30 points and one assist shy of a triple-double.

On Friday (April 29), the series switches back to Minnesota for Game 6, when Memphis will try to wrap up the series.

MEEK MILL HANGED UP ON CALBOY AFTER HE JOKED ABOUT 6IX9INE ALTERCATION, CALBOY REMINISES.

Calboy recently disclosed that he sacked his Dream Chasers management team as a result of Meek Mill’s “Chariot” video, which he had previously banned from being published. In another tape from the same VladTV interview, the Chicago rapper remembered an uneasy phone discussion with Meek regarding his run-in with 6ix9ine.

“We had some words after that, a little bit,” he said. “But it weren’t nothing about no management though. A viral moment happened or something – 6ix9ine walked up to him with the camera. He walked up on him with the camera, Meek pulled out his camera. I think somebody made a post on it and I reacted to that post. I think Wack [100] or somebody said something, so I commented, ‘Look at the police playing with the police.’

“That’s when I was mad about it like, I’ll just let this sneak diss off. So he called me like, ‘Cal, I know you gang, what you on?’ I said, ‘Man, stop calling me bro, you tweaking. You know what it is.’ Then I hung up on him. He called me back like, ‘Foe, you’re tweaking.’ He hung up on me.”

Meek Mill and 6ix9ine came face to face in a parking lot outside an Atlanta nightclub in February 2021. Calboy specifically tweeted after the incident, “Even the rats spit on trash dummy.” When someone said he was crazy for beefing with Meek, he replied, “We juss got otp family. I was once dc before on Meek side no matter what a n-gga said bout bro… experience a mfer tho.”

Calboy went on to label Meek Mill “selfish” during the VladTV interview, but he made sure to express his gratitude for the Dream Chasers chance nevertheless.

“I ain’t finna say anything like, it ain’t gon’ be no bad shit,” he said. “Meek cool but I think he’s just a little self-centered, like he worry about himself still. I don’t know, I ain’t trying to make it sound no type of way, you feel me? But he’s just a little selfish, or I should say, inconsiderate. I don’t really care about — I mean, I feel what I feel. We can’t come to no middle point. In my situation, that’s what it felt like.”

He added, “I feel like he was slick hating a little bit. A lot of people could look at me and say, ‘Man, Cal, you unappreciative.’ Like nah, we gon’ knock that out. I appreciate it. Anybody would tell you, I say ‘thank you’ a million times a day. And I mean that, and I really appreciate it, but you ain’t gon’ do that one like, ‘I did this for you so I ain’t gotta do nothing else for you and you a part of my camp and you on my team.’ That don’t make sense.”

ARCHIE EVERSOLE, THE ‘WE READY’ RAPPER, WAS REPORTEDLY MURDERED BY HIS OWN BROTHER.

More information about the death of “We Ready” rapper Archie Eversole is emerging. Eversole was shot on March 25 on Golf Vista Circle in DeKalb County, Georgia, and brought to a nearby hospital, where he died on April 3 from his injuries, according to WSB-TV2.

Alexander Kraus, Eversole’s brother, has been accused with the murder. Eversole was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound at a Chevron station on Snapfinger Woods Drive when police arrived. Kraus was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following the shooting, but his charges were elevated to murder after Eversole died.

Eversole made his debut album Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style when he was only 17 years old. Because of the popularity of the famous sports anthem “We Ready,” which prominently copied Steam’s 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,” the project was eventually certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The music was included in a commercial produced by the NFL in 2019. In the aftermath of his passing, NFL free agent Robert Griffin III paid homage to the 37-year-old by calling “We Ready” “the greatest Game Day anthem ever.”

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE SHOOTING VICTIM AT DABABY’S NORTH CAROLINA RESIDENCE

On Wednesday night, DaBaby was apparently at home when someone was shot on his farm in Troutman, North Carolina (April 13). According to WSOC-9 in Charlotte, authorities swiftly established that the gunshot victim was not a visitor or a local. Instead, the individual was an invader who scaled a wall to gain access to the 8.94-acre property, albeit their motives remain unknown.

As he attempted to flee, the intruder was shot on a football field near DaBaby’s estate and is presently being treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Reporter Dave Faherty has been keeping the public up to date on the incident, tweeting Thursday (April 14), “Breaking Troutman- channel 9 has confirmed rapper DaBaby was at home last night when someone was shot on his property. Today we could see extra security and no trespassing signs. The latest on the investigation and the gun that was seized today on channel 9 eyewitness news.”

The Troutman Police Department released a statement about the shooting on its Facebook page immediately after the event occurred at 7:45 p.m. local time.

“On 04/13/2022 at around 1945 hours officers with the Troutman Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 135 Stillwater Road,” it read. “Officers arrived on scene where they found one subject suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The subject was transported by Iredell County EMS to a medical facility for treatment.

“Due to the ongoing and continuing nature of this investigation, no information as to the names of those involved or the circumstances can be released at this time. This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at large.”

Despite the fact that DaBaby did not come face to face with the invader, he was definitely capable of defending himself. The Blame It On Baby singer said six armed men allegedly stormed into his flat and forced him to shoot one of them during a 2019 interview with VladTV.

“I turned the corner on some James Bond shit and see, like, five, six n-ggas,” he remembered. “Some of them over there going through [my stuff]. The closest one to me, he coming toward me and I’m turning the corner and I pop his ass. ‘BANG!’ They shooting back, I swing back around the corner and goddamn go up the steps around the garage and hit the button. When I come out the garage, I hear them n-ggas, ‘Are you hit? Are you hit?’ They hop in the car, skrrrt, the car pull out.”

JAY-Z BRINGS MICHAEL JACKSON OUT AT HOT 97 SUMMER JAM SURFACES IN 2001, UNSEEN FOOTAGE

JAY-Z was a rapper rising the ranks and taking on any opponents in his way before becoming a millionaire and one of Hip Hop’s G.O.A.T.s. In June 2001, Hov was one of the hottest performers on the scene, and to set himself apart from the competition, he performed as the main headliner at Hot 97’s Summer Jam.

JAY-spectacular Z’s performance would propel him even higher into the spotlight, while also starting one of Hip Hop’s most infamous feuds between him and Nas. Only brief bits of that night have been provided to the public, along with innumerable soundbites and interviews from those in attendance, but now, due to a YouTube post on Tuesday, fans may finally see it in its entirety for the first time (April 12).

The full 58-minute concert, which includes one of the wildest Hip Hop moments of all time, was uploaded to YouTube by HipHopVCR. JAY-Z startled the Nassau Coliseum audience by bringing out the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, on stage in front of a rowdy throng towards the end of his performance.

Fans have watched the momentous event before, but not in the clarity that this upload provides. The film also shows Hov playing “Takeover” for the first time on stage, as he projected images of Mobb Deep’s late Prodigy as a child dancer onto the Summer Jam screen. The crowd erupted as Jay delivered the second verse a capella, and the crowd erupted when he took digs at Nas.

There’s no indication on who caught the complete concert in its entirety, but considering all the stories they’ve heard over the years about that great night on June 28, 2001, Hip Hop fans are glad to whoever it was. JAY-Z praised Michael Jackson’s performance as a career highlight in a 2003 interview with MTV News.

“It was actually easier [to set-up] than what people would think,” he said. “It wasn’t even difficult. I didn’t have to call a hundred times and babysit the situation.”

IGGY AZALEA JOKES AT PLAYBOI CARTI, PROMISING TO ‘TAKE CARE’ OF HER.

Playboi Carti gave a rare interview to XXL on Tuesday (April 12), in which he lauded Iggy Azalea, the mother of his kid, and talked about “taking care” of her despite their separation.

“I’m a father,” he said. “You know what I’m saying? You know how it is having kids. I just got responsibilities. I pay a lot of bills. I take care of a lot of people. I take care of my mom. I take care of my family. I take care of my baby mom [and] I take care of my son. There’s a lot of people I take care of. So, it’s like, I gotta keep doing it.”

Iggy Azalea responded to Playboi Carti’s comments on Twitter a few hours after the story was published.

“Take care of me? Lmaooooo,” she wrote. “let’s not get carried away now.”

When a fan replied, “LMAODOD BITCH I SAW THAT AN WAS LIKE WHAT,” Iggy said, “I laughed. A lot.”

Onyx Kelly, the son of Playboi Carti and Iggy Azalea, was due in April 2020, however the pair reportedly split up before he was born. Carti characterized Iggy as a “great mom” and expressed his admiration for her in the interview, while also admitting that they are both now single.

“[My son’s] birthday is coming up in three weeks,” he said. “I got him a crazy chain, too. He’s going to be a problem. That’s who you need on the next cover. He’s beautiful. And Iggy, she’s a great mom. I love her to death. I’m single. She’s single now. But that’s one of the best mothers in the world. And that’s what you got to put in the book, you hear me? I love her to death. She is the best mother in the world.”

Playboi Carti wanted to make sure his statements on Iggy Azalea were included in the piece when asked for any further thoughts at the end.

“Just make sure [to put in] that I love my baby mother,” he said. “It definitely needs to be known that [Iggy] is the best mother in the world. My son is perfect. He’s too perfect. I need to rough him up a little bit.”

FLORIDA MALL SHUTS DOWN BECAUSE OF LIL DURK LOOKALIKE

People might go insane when they see a star in an unexpected public place. King Cid, a YouTube prankster, tricked Lil Durk fans on Thursday by parading a doppelganger of the Chicago rap singer around a mall in Broward County, Florida (April 7).

The impostor, who goes by the name Shmurkioo, nailed Smurk’s style, sporting Durk’s distinctive blond dreads, a fashionable blue puffer coat, and matching snapback. People flocked to his security squad, and the gathering grew as word traveled across the mall.

Everyone had their phones out, screaming for a selfie, and yelled obscenities at the Durk doppelgänger, which is likely to cause some second-hand humiliation when they hear the hoax video is going viral.

In recent months, rapper impersonators have gone popular. A fake DJ Khaled was recently spotted at Waffle House, channeling the inspiring Khaled character, while a fake Drake has reportedly built a profession out of impersonating the 6 God in Miami.

Lil Durk’s doppelganger in the prank was even co-signed by him. He shared a viral TikTok of the impostor and a female buddy performing their best Durk and India Royale impressions with his “Difference Is” song as the music earlier this week.

WILL SMITH REACTS TO A TEN-YEAR ACADEMY PROHIBITION

Following his Oscars slap disaster with veteran comic Chris Rock, the Academy has formally penalized Will Smith.

The Board of Governors for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences reconvened on Friday (April 8) and announced that the King Richard actor would be banned from all Academy events, including the Oscars, for ten years as a result of his physical assault on Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards awards show.

According to Variety, Will Smith, who voluntarily resigned from The Academy on April 1, will almost certainly keep his Best Actor Oscar for his role in the biopic based on Serena and Venus Williams’ father Richard Williams, because the Oscars have “no legal authority to claim” his award as part of disciplinary action. Smith’s eligibility to be nominated for or win Oscars in the future will not be affected by the suspension, which takes effect on April 8.

“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” Will Smith allegedly said in a statement in response to the decision.

Despite the fact that Will Smith has previously described his emotional state as “heartbroken” following the Oscars ceremony, where he walked on stage and open-handedly slapped Chris Rock in response to a joke the comedian told aimed at Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, a slew of celebrities have chastised him for his emotional outburst.

During a recent Drink Champs interview, Harlem hitmaker A$AP Rocky revealed his dissatisfaction with Will Smith’s handling of a quarrel with another Black guy.

“I’m a fan of Will, Jada, Chris, all of them. They OGs,” Rocky said, as seen in the clip posted to Instagram. “I think it’s unfortunate that, like, he emasculated another Black man in front of all them people like that. But I do think that, like, it’s some built-up shit that probably wasn’t really targeted at Chris Rock. I don’t know. … Like what you said, it seems like it’s more than just a G.I. Jane joke.”

Wiz Khalifa also sought to lighten the mood during the screening of his Still Rolling Papers documentary, warning spectators not to approach the stage or risk getting shot at for doing so.

Tony Rock, Chris Rock’s brother, addressed the subject at a recent stand-up show, hinting that he would not have had the same ability to maintain his cool as his brother had he been on the Oscars stage that night.

“If you think you going to walk up on this stage, this ain’t the muthafucking Oscars!” Tony Rock said. “And if you walk your ass up here, you ain’t nominated for shit but these muthafucking hands! Oh, we going to pop the rest of the year, n-gga. Every time you see me do a show, pop!”

He continued, “You gonna hit my muthafucking brother because your bitch gave you a side-eye?”

HACKED YOUTUBE CHANNELS OF EMINEM, DRAKE, AND KANYE WEST

This week, hackers were at it again. Fans discovered a slew of their favorite rappers’ YouTube accounts were under assault on Tuesday (April 5), with attackers uploading a series of odd videos to accounts belonging to A-list rappers including Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Travis Scott, Juice WRLD, and others.

The weird videos have since been deleted, but screenshots are still available, and the upload title “Free Paco Sanz (ft. Will Smith, Chris Rock, Skinny flex & Los Pelaos)” was seen on every account. Paco Sanz will spend the rest of his life in jail after scamming hundreds of people while claiming to be dying.

Although YouTube has yet to officially acknowledge the intrusion, its music video partner VEVO has released a statement about the security issue.

“Some videos were directly uploaded to a small number of Vevo artist channels earlier today by an unauthorized source,” VEVO told the New York Post. “All of those improperly uploaded videos have since been deleted by Vevo. No pre-existing content was accessible to the source. While the artist channels have been secured and the incident has been resolved, as a best practice Vevo will be conducting a review of our security systems.”

Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Lil Nas X, and the late Michael Jackson were among the celebrities whose YouTube accounts were hacked.

“I LOVE MY SON” YNW MELLY’S MOTHER SAYS IN RESPOND TO HIS LYING ACCUSATIONS

On Tuesday (April 5), YNW Melly felt compelled to make a rare phone call from prison to clarify the air after an associate named JGreen got into a violent argument with his management 100K Track, accusing him of owing Melly’s mother and brother a large sum of money.

Melly termed JGreen’s behavior “out of pocket” and repeatedly branded his mother a liar, claiming she has anxiety difficulties, during the phone call.

Jamie King, Melly’s mother, took to Instagram on Wednesday (April 6) to respond to the charges, saying she loves her son completely regardless of what he believes.

“Think whatever you want about me but I love my son and make sure he keeps money on his books and that he is good,” King wrote. “I’ve never missed a court date in 3 years except when I caught Covid from the hospital 2X because I’m a nurse and I stopped working last month.”

She added, “I love Jamell no matter what but I’m completely [heartbroken] nothing can fix that I been front row watching my son fight for his life and being a single mom so yes I have anxiety and I’m stressed I cry most days and I don’t eat.”

I hate internet stuff it makes me want to give up I never asked for life but I’m blessed to be here. Anyone who knows me know I show love to everyone. I’m going to always be here for Jamell no matter how hurt I am his mom and I love him.”

Melly described her mother as “triggered” and unpredictable throughout the phone contact. He also said that the money issue arose because Melly’s younger brother, YNW BSlime, wanted to be more established than he is now.

“She feels some type of way because she feels like my brother is supposed to be bigger, or whatever bruh,” Melly said. “Nobody bucking my brother on no money. If Track fucking my brother on money that mean I’m fucking my brother on money and I’d never do that to my little brother.”

He added, “My momma be tripping, complaining and lying. She been lying for a while now, bruh. That’s what’s been going on, you know what I’m saying? N-gga can’t take nothing from 100k.”

Three years after he was arrested and accused of murdering his two pals Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams, YNW Melly’s long-awaited murder trial finally began on Monday (April 4). However, Complex later claimed that the trial had been postponed even again owing to “unresolved legal issues,” with no new date set. There hasn’t been any news on that story in a long time.
