FANS OF DRAKE LEFT ANGRY AFTER THE VANCOUVER SHOW WAS POSTPONED A FEW HOURS PRIOR TO SHOWTIME

Due to “unforeseen circumstances,” Drake abruptly postponed the first of two gigs scheduled for Vancouver, infuriating the concertgoers that showed up.

Those waiting in line for the event on Monday were assured by a Rogers Arena employee, “We want to make this as easy for you as possible” (August 28). “Unfortunately, the concert this evening has been postponed … It’s out of our control.”

She continued as the audience’s irate outbursts subsided: “You and your wristbands will be honored on Wednesday [August 30].”

Upon the announcement, one of the fans even said, “This my 13th reason.” The remark made reference to the television program 13 Reasons Why, in which a young girl outlines all the factors that led to her suicide.

The fact that many individuals are selling the postponed event tickets online suggests that they won’t be able to attend the rescheduled date.

Only hours before the gates were scheduled to open, the performance was called off, and not for any particular reason other than problems with “the newly installed scoreboard” at the arena. Fans online haven’t been accepting of Drizzy’s last-minute change as a result.

The OVO boss has continued to discuss NBA-related issues, most notably joining a chorus of NBA players in denouncing Noah Lyles, a track star, for his criticism of the NBA Finals champions being referred to as “World Champions.”

Lyles drew criticism over the weekend when he questioned why only the United States and Canada are represented in the North American sports league, despite the NBA and its players being hailed as world champions.

“You know what hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on their head,” the 26-year-old track star said at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. “World champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong, I love the U.S. at times. But that ain’t the world… There ain’t no flags in the NBA.”

The 6 God attacked Lyles in support of his NBA pals after learning about the shocking remarks. With his formal role as the Toronto Raptors’ ambassador, Drake is also connected to the league.

“He thought this speech was gonna be so hard in the mirror the night before… now the whole league doesn’t rate u,” Drake used a series of laughing emojis to respond to Akademiks’ repost of Lyles’ remarks.

In his fiery new song “F-CK THE INDUSTRY PT. 2,” NBA YOUNGBOY DISSEMINATES DRAKE, J. COLE, & LIL YACHTY

NBA On his angry new song “Fuck The Industry Pt. 2,” YoungBoy has fired shots at Drake, J. Cole, and Lil Yachty.

On Friday (May 12), the rapper from Baton Rouge published his most recent album, Richest Opp, which included a song that flings verbal jabs at a number of well-known artists.

YoungBoy begins by referring to Drake as his “enemy” and labeling him a “bitch,” making reference to the 6 God’s friendship with Lil Durk, and asserting that he refused to collaborate with him despite enjoying his music.

“Talk to Drake ‘cross FaceTime, he wasn’t feelin’ me/ Told me that he fuck with Durk, damn, that shit was gettin’ to me/ Told me that he like the shit I’m doin’, but can’t do shit with me/ So when we cross our ways, fuck what you say, bitch, you my enemy,” he snarls.

In recent years, Drizzy has frequently teamed up with Durk, YoungBoy’s fierce opponent, on songs like 2020’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” and his Certified Lover Boy album track “In the Bible.”

Then, NBA YoungBoy calls J. Cole, who is featured on Durk’s brand-new song, “All My Life,” which was also released on Friday, a “ho” for allegedly ghosting him after they agreed to collaborate.

“J a ho, that n-gga played it cold, like he was gon’ do a feature/ So I texted his line, a muscle sign, I swear it’s gon’ be nice to meet you,” he raps.

J. Cole allegedly waited eight hours in the studio for NBA YoungBoy in March 2021, but the rapper never showed up, according to Akademiks.

“J. Cole waited in the studio for eight hours for YoungBoy to show up,” Ak said. “YoungBoy didn’t show up. Facts. These are facts! Your favorite rapper, n-gga. J. Cole? He sat in the studio for eight hours for a session with YoungBoy. YoungBoy never showed up. Let me be fair to YoungBoy. No disrespect to J. Cole, J. Cole’s just a rapper.”

“YoungBoy be going through shit. He’s living life, he’s going through shit. YoungBoy said, ‘Yo, my energy is not fit to be in the studio with that guy.’ It wasn’t about J. Cole. It was just that he, and personally what he was going through, wasn’t fit to be in that environment.”

NBA YoungBoy finishes the vicious song by criticizing Lil Yachty for his previous connection with JT from City Girls.

“Bitch, play with me, Lil Yachty mad about JT, f-ggot/ Bitch, play with me, half of y’all ain’t got more money than me,”

Yachty replied to YoungBoy’s attack on Twitter immediately after the album’s release, but neither Drake nor J. Cole have yet provided a response. The Atlanta rapper shared a brief video of 50 Cent exclaiming, “I mean, what he say ‘fuck me’ for?!” in shock.

YoungBoy responded with a video of his own, claiming Yachty had “checked” him for shooting JT while they were still together.

Before laughing, he said, “Yachty crazy than a muthafucka. Aye bitch, you got me laughing over here, boy. Bitch, you know why I said that, mane. You called me talking about that crazy ass girl, boy,”

“Mama, that bitch really checked me ’bout that girl. That bitch checked the gangsta, man … If I ain’t mistaken, bruh, you say you X’d me out trying to talk to your bitch. And I was confused ’cause you a ho and you was coming at me like — I ain’t really do that.”

“Bitch, I got a mental problem over here and I got too much money. You n-ggas might as well stay the fuck out my way.”

NBA YoungBoy’s Richest Opp, a collection of 17 new songs with a single feature from NBA Ben10, was published through Never Broke Again/Motown Records. It is his third album to be released this year after I Rest My Case in January and Don’t Try This at Home in April.

A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST TICKETMASTER HAS BEEN STARTED BY DRAKE’S TOUR TICKET PRICES

A class-action lawsuit against Ticketmaster has been started as a result of Drake’s ticket pricing for his It’s All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage.

The Toronto Star reports that a Montreal man has accused the ticketing giant of price gouging. He claims that after paying $789.54 each for two “Official Platinum” seats for Drizzy’s concert at Canada’s Bell Centre on July 14, the cost of those seats dropped to $350 the following day after the 6 Gods announced a second show.

In the lawsuit, Ticketmaster is accused of “actively misleading consumers for their own financial advantage,” according to the legal firm LPC Advocat Inc. Drake would play two nights in Montreal, according to the lawsuit, but the venue purposefully “concealed this fact” in order to “squeeze” money out of supporters.

“Ticketmaster unilaterally decides which tickets it advertises and sells as ‘Official Platinum’ based on a given event,” the suit reads. “The result is that most, if not all, of the tickets advertised and sold as ‘Official Platinum’ are neither ‘premium tickets’ nor ‘some of the best seats in the house’ and are, in fact, just regular tickets sold by Ticketmaster at an artificially inflated premium in bad faith.”

The lawsuit follows Drake’s decision to add 14 extra dates to his summer tour with 21 Savage owing to overwhelming demand for tickets.

The tour begins on June 16 in New Orleans and travels through a number of other cities until coming to a close on September 5 in Glendale, Arizona. These cities include Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

Since then, more performances have been scheduled, including further dates in Houston, Dallas, Miami, Detroit, Montreal, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Vancouver, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

The tour will now include a whopping 42 performances at venues including the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

The pricing of the Cash App Card and Sprite presale tickets, which started a few days before regular tickets went on sale to the general public, upset fans right away.

“These Drake ticket prices are outrageous,” One user tweeted, while another made reference to Chris Brown doing lap dances for fans while performing live: “Drake concert tickets are 1k??? he better chris brown me on dat stage.”

DRAKE AND 21 SAVAGE SUED FOR $4 MILLION OVER FAKE “VOGUE” COVER

Condé Nast, the parent company of Vogue, has filed a lawsuit against Drake and 21 Savage for fabricating a phony issue of Vogue as part of the release of their innovative Her Loss album.

Condé Nast, according to TMZ, has sued the rapper from Slaughter Gang and OVO, saying that neither party “endorsed” the Her Loss commercial in any manner.

The massive publishing company claims the false marketing breaches intellectual property rules and is suing for $4 million in damages. A further argument made by Vogue is that it tried to block the publication and distribution of the free publications but was unsuccessful.

The lawsuit is rather unexpected given that Drake congratulated longtime Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Anna Wintour when he unveiled the fictitious magazine cover on Instagram last month.

“Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow,” he wrote in his caption. “Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment.”

Even Drizzy criticized the fashion publication when he collaborated with 21 Savage on the song “Jimmy Cooks” earlier this year, rapping: “Bitch, don’t tell me that you model if you ain’t been in “Vogue.”

According to TMZ’s sources, Drake’s team is “surprised and confused” by the lawsuit because Howard Stern and NPR have joyfully supported the record promotion campaign.

The venerable radio presenter was pleased by Drake and 21 Savage’s ingenuity when it came to using his show’s audio samples to set up a phony interview that had noteworthy remarks from both rappers.

“[Drake] did this kinda interesting thing,” Stern said on his SiriusXM show earlier this week. “Instead of doing a press tour, he made up a fake press tour and released it. And then he even put out a clip of me interviewing him.

“He edited himself in to look like he’s in our studio, and he’s answering questions from me using clips from a different interview.”

“Drake did such a good job that the news outlets are reporting on it as if it’s real. We have enough material from all the shows we’ve done, we could just do our whole show like that.”

DRAKE’S TEAM DENIES STORIES THAT HE WAS DETENTION IN SWEDEN

Drake’s crew has denied reports that the musician was detained on Thursday in Sweden (July 14).

Thursday night, rumors on the internet gained traction indicating that the singer of the famous song “Honestly, Nevermind” had been detained by law enforcement at a Swedish nightclub on marijuana-related charges. In Sweden, marijuana is forbidden.

Drake is now in Stockholm, Sweden, and earlier this week, his “Air Drake” Boeing 767 private plane was seen making an airport landing in the Scandinavian nation.

https://twitter.com/thewavecheckk/status/1547287507427106817?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1547287507427106817%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhiphopdx.com%2Fnews%2Fid.71740%2Ftitle.drake-not-arrested-sweden

The allegations, however, proved to be untrue; Drake’s team and the Swedish police both confirmed that the rapper had not been detained. Drake was in his hotel on Thursday night, according to his staff.

“FYI: I talked to Swedish police and they told me Drake is not currently in their custody. (That was the only info they would give),” HuffPost senior editor Philip Lewis tweeted at midnight on Friday (July 15).

He later added, “From Drake’s team: ‘Drake is at his hotel and has not been arrested.’” The news was also confirmed by XXL and The Hollywood Reporter.

Rapper Drake would not have been the first to encounter legal issues in Sweden. A$AP Rocky spent the most of July of 2019 incarcerated in the Scandinavian nation after getting into a fight with two local males, along with him and his crew, on the streets of Stockholm.

After a high-profile trial, the Harlem native was convicted guilty of assault but was spared jail time and handed a suspended sentence. It was revealed earlier this month that former President Donald Trump, who at the time demanded Rocky’s release, threatened economic sanctions against Sweden due to the rapper’s detention.

G-Eazy was detained in Sweden in 2018 on charges of violence, drug possession, and drug usage. The resident of the Bay Area received probation and a $10,000 fine after entering a guilty plea.

Drake can now focus on his freshly announced October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour after the reports of his imprisonment were disproved. The event, which will take over Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on July 29 and August 1, promises appearances from Lil Baby and Chris Brown as well as a Young Money reunion with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne.

HACKED YOUTUBE CHANNELS OF EMINEM, DRAKE, AND KANYE WEST

This week, hackers were at it again. Fans discovered a slew of their favorite rappers’ YouTube accounts were under assault on Tuesday (April 5), with attackers uploading a series of odd videos to accounts belonging to A-list rappers including Drake, Kanye West, Eminem, Travis Scott, Juice WRLD, and others.

https://twitter.com/L0aded01/status/1511260098655657986?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1511260098655657986%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhiphopdx.com%2Fnews%2Fid.69345%2Ftitle.eminem-drake-kanye-wests-youtube-channels-hacked

The weird videos have since been deleted, but screenshots are still available, and the upload title “Free Paco Sanz (ft. Will Smith, Chris Rock, Skinny flex & Los Pelaos)” was seen on every account. Paco Sanz will spend the rest of his life in jail after scamming hundreds of people while claiming to be dying.

Although YouTube has yet to officially acknowledge the intrusion, its music video partner VEVO has released a statement about the security issue.

https://twitter.com/India55876909/status/1511245815393787904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1511245815393787904%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhiphopdx.com%2Fnews%2Fid.69345%2Ftitle.eminem-drake-kanye-wests-youtube-channels-hacked

“Some videos were directly uploaded to a small number of Vevo artist channels earlier today by an unauthorized source,” VEVO told the New York Post. “All of those improperly uploaded videos have since been deleted by Vevo. No pre-existing content was accessible to the source. While the artist channels have been secured and the incident has been resolved, as a best practice Vevo will be conducting a review of our security systems.”

Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, Lil Nas X, and the late Michael Jackson were among the celebrities whose YouTube accounts were hacked.

https://twitter.com/lospelaosbro/status/1511285890315866116?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1511285890315866116%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhiphopdx.com%2Fnews%2Fid.69345%2Ftitle.eminem-drake-kanye-wests-youtube-channels-hacked

Someone using the Twitter handle @lospelaosbro attempted to claim credit as the principal hacker, but such allegations have yet to be verified. While fans were understandably confused, their favorite musicians’ YouTube channels appear to have been returned to normal.

WHEN WORKING WITH DRAKE, LIL WAYNE HAS CHANGED HIS VERSES “A BILLION TIMES.”

Over the course of their illustrious Young Money careers, Lil Wayne and Drake have produced a treasure trove of duets. Weezy F. Baby hosted a Q&A with fans on Wednesday (September 1) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Tha Carter IV’s release, and he stated that anytime he collaborates with the 6 God on a new song, he changes his lines “a billion times.”

“Everything Drake send back, I always have to go back and re-record,” Lil Wayne replied. “It’s always too hot. It’s always because he says something at the end that make me be like, ‘Oh, I could make more of the song and capitalize on what he just said.’ I have changed my verse a billion times because of Drake and that’s always the person.”

After hearing what he has to say, Drake pushes his pen to take the tune to the next level, according to the New Orleans Hip Hop veteran.

“It’s always because he says something that sounds a whole lot more interesting and unique and I feel like we need to capitalize on whatever the hell he said,” Wayne continued.

In terms of their most recent collaboration, Young Angel and Young Lion guested on Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green” earlier in 2021, which was featured on the re-loaded streaming edition of her 2009 Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape.

DURING ‘SPORTSCENTER,’ DID DRAKE REVEAL THE RELEASE DATE FOR ‘CLB’?

John Salangsang/Shutterstock

For weeks, Drake has been teasing the release date for his highly anticipated sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy, and it appears like it may arrive sooner rather than later.

Someone wearing a black hoodie and bandana interrupted ESPN’s Sportscenter program early Friday morning (August 27). The masked person put up a cardboard sign that said “CLB September 3” as the shaky TV feed broke into the Sportscenter opening introduction. It didn’t take long for fans to blame Drake for the stream hijacking, but it’s still unclear who’s to blame as of press time.

Kanye West’s Donda will officially be released on September 3, according to Apple Music. The precise date was revealed via a shaky video stream Friday morning. If Drake is behind it all, he’s managing Kanye West’s rekindled feud admirably. Last week, the Chicago rap artist tweeted an image of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker character from the 2019 film in a group chat session.

Alongside the picture was a text that read, “I live for this. I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

Fans on social media were eager to call out the video feed’s timing and style. When Drake disrupted the news program, some believed he was channeling Heath Ledger’s renowned Joker character from 2008’s The Dark Knight.

After Kanye referred to him as a “nerd ass jock,” fans pointed to Drake’s great chess move of seizing Sportcenter.

Take a look at some of the reactions that have been received thus far.

DRAKE’S HOME ADDRESS IS EXPOSED BY KANYE WEST, BUT DRIZZY CAN’T STOP LAUGHING.

Kanye West is taking his fight with Drake to the next level, as their feud has continued to escalate over the weekend.

Kanye West took his next move in the early hours of Monday morning (August 23), revealing Drake’s home address on his Instagram account after appearing to tell him he’ll “never recover” following his verse on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.”

Drake’s Toronto house number and street name, as well as its position on the map, were seen in a snapshot from Apple. Kanye has now taken down the post, but many of his 7.3 million followers weren’t quick enough to notice.

Drake quickly responded on Instagram Stories, casually laughing about the incident while driving a convertible.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1429724408172646401

Drake referenced Kanye West during his line on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” from his Trip at Knight (Complete Edition) album on Saturday (August 21), kicking off the latest back-and-forth.

“I done done it all, it’s like I’m Shawty Lo (Shawty),” Drizzy raps. “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/’Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone.”

It didn’t take Kanye West long to figure out what the songs were about. On the same day, Yeezy uploaded a screenshot of what seemed to be a group conversation with Drake, in which he posted a photo of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and a threat.

“I live for this,” Kanye wrote. “I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

Not only that, but Pusha T, Drizzy’s other foe, was also brought up in the chat.

Kanye West and Drake are both finishing up their albums, with Donda and Certified Lover Boy set to drop before the end of 2021, with the possibility of release dates clashing.
