AS THE MIGOS CATALOG GOES PUBLIC, OFFSET & CARDI B SUPPORT THE NYSE

Offset had a good day on Wall Street to start his week. The Migos rapper showed up to Nasdaq HQ in Manhattan’s Time Square on Monday (August 30) with wifey Cardi B at his side to celebrate Reservoir Media’s IPO.

Thanks to the leadership of its founder and CEO Golnar Khosrowshahi, the independent music publishing firm is the first of its type to go public, as well as the first female-led music corporation.

Offset’s participation stems from the Migos’ library, which is managed by Reservoir Media. When TMZ got up with Set earlier today, he claimed he’s “partners” with the firm before heading inside to have some fun with the ritual of ringing the opening bell.

In 2017, Reservoir Media allegedly inked worldwide publishing arrangements with Offset and Takeoff. The firm went public in July, but the formal announcement was made this morning.

“This morning, Reservoir rang the @Nasdaq Opening Bell in celebration of our recent IPO. It is both exciting and humbling to take this next step in Reservoir’s journey,” Reservoir Media wrote. “We look forward to all the opportunities this creates, as we deepen our commitment to #investinginentertainment.”

Reservoir Media ended Monday with a stock price of little under $9 per share for those interested in purchasing shares.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? KANYE WEST’S ‘DONDA’ ALBUM DIDN’T DROP YET AGAIN

Evan Agostini/Invision/

Kanye West hosted an extravagant listening party for his upcoming album Donda — and then didn’t release it, almost like Groundhog Day. But, honestly, who’s shocked at this point? With each project, whether it was Nas’ NASIR or his own solo effort, his album rollouts have gotten messier with time.

This one has been by far the most difficult. Following two public listening sessions on July 23 and August 6 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kanye returned to the drawing board to reportedly tighten up his tenth studio album.

Kanye West sold out Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago on Thursday (August 26), forcing fans to wait nearly three hours over the planned start time.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the field, a copy of his boyhood house with a cross on the roof and bellows of fog waiting eerily while nothing occurred.

The famous cry of “Donda, Donda, Donda” began at 10:50 p.m. CT, and the party was up and running — finally. A rather out of place Marilyn Manson hung out on the porch with Kanye, who was wearing a full-face mask once more.

Guests set to appear include Kid Cudi, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty, Fivio Foreign, Don Toliver, Young Thug, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Jay Electronica, and The LOX.

However, for the time being, fans will have to wait to see who makes the final cut. The release date has been pushed out to September 3rd, according to Apple Music. Despite the fact that fans are probably getting bored of the delays, Kanye is Kanye.

DURING ‘SPORTSCENTER,’ DID DRAKE REVEAL THE RELEASE DATE FOR ‘CLB’?

John Salangsang/Shutterstock

For weeks, Drake has been teasing the release date for his highly anticipated sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy, and it appears like it may arrive sooner rather than later.

Someone wearing a black hoodie and bandana interrupted ESPN’s Sportscenter program early Friday morning (August 27). The masked person put up a cardboard sign that said “CLB September 3” as the shaky TV feed broke into the Sportscenter opening introduction. It didn’t take long for fans to blame Drake for the stream hijacking, but it’s still unclear who’s to blame as of press time.

Kanye West’s Donda will officially be released on September 3, according to Apple Music. The precise date was revealed via a shaky video stream Friday morning. If Drake is behind it all, he’s managing Kanye West’s rekindled feud admirably. Last week, the Chicago rap artist tweeted an image of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker character from the 2019 film in a group chat session.

Alongside the picture was a text that read, “I live for this. I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

Fans on social media were eager to call out the video feed’s timing and style. When Drake disrupted the news program, some believed he was channeling Heath Ledger’s renowned Joker character from 2008’s The Dark Knight.

After Kanye referred to him as a “nerd ass jock,” fans pointed to Drake’s great chess move of seizing Sportcenter.

Take a look at some of the reactions that have been received thus far.

ICE CUBE GIVES AWAY THOUSANDS OF MASK AS PFIZER’S CEO ISSUES A NEW VARIANT WARNING

HOLLYWOOD – JANUARY 11: Actor/singer Ice Cube arrives at the premiere of Warner Bros. “The Book Of Eli” at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on January 11, 2010 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

With COVID-19 cases on the rise across the United States as a result of the Delta variant, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) are still needed to keep the coronavirus at bay. Ice Cube and Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management Inc. teamed up to gift approximately 2,000 masks to Bacone College in Oklahoma for the fall semester of 2021.

“We are so grateful today,” the college posted on Twitter. “Bacone received a donation of 2000 face masks for students from legendary rapper and actor @icecube and Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management. #maskupstaysafe #warriors #baconecollege.”

Because masks are necessary in a variety of social contexts on campus, all professors and students will have access to free masks.

“We are incredibly grateful to Ice Cube and Mr. Armstrong. This is a generous gift that comes at a time when this virus is experiencing a resurgence in our area,” college president Dr. Ferlin Clark said. “We are dedicated to keeping our students safe and healthy, and this will have a lasting impact on our efforts.”

Oklahoma registered almost 2,500 coronavirus infections on Wednesday (August 25), according to The New York Times, matching November levels of positive testing in the state. For the day, there were also 136 fatalities.

With Delta variant cases spreading across the country, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla is worried that a vaccine-resistant version may develop shortly. As of Tuesday, more than 62 percent of adult Americans have received all of their vaccines (August 24).

“Every time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it,” Bourla told Fox News. “They are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine. We haven’t identified any yet but we believe that it is likely that one day, one of them will emerge.”

Ice Cube spoke with Jalen Rose on his Rennaisance Man podcast earlier this week, when he placed his whole career in perspective and commented on life-changing situations like quitting N.W.A.

SAWEETIE REDUCES THE AMOUNT OF QUALITY TIME SPENT WITH QUAVO

Following the revelation that Saweetie and Quavo were supposedly hanging out again, fans on social media were divided. They split up in March and had a tumultuous post-breakup that included repossessions and surveillance recordings. Many people applauded the pair, while others were relieved when they split up, so the news that they were talking again was bound to make a stir.

According to Saweetie, it appears like individuals are fabricating stories. On Thursday (August 26), the Icy Girl came to Twitter to address allegations that she was spending time with her ex-boyfriend Quavo.

“Pinocchio ass article anyways back to this #saweetiemeal,” In a retweet of a HollywoodLife post about Quavo and Saweetie hanging together, the Bay Area resident wrote.

Saweetie isn’t going to allow stories about her spread like wildfire. Anyone expecting for a reconciliation between the two should not hold their breath, as Saweetie assures them that it will not happen anytime soon. She’s too preoccupied with the success of her recent McDonald’s collaboration to notice.

A Big Mac, four-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, medium Sprite, plus Tangy BBQ and ‘Saweetie’ N Sour’ sauces on the side make up the Saweetie Meal. Saweetie, who is known for her bizarre meal combos, urged customers to mix and match sides and sauces with their Big Mac.

“McDonald’s and I run deep – from growing up back in Hayward, California, all through my college days – so I had to bring my icy gang in on my all-time favorites,” she said about the partnership in a statement. “Depending on the mood I’m in, there are so many ways to enjoy my order. I like to keep things fresh – I know that’s right.”

A SELF-CRITICAL DOJA CAT RECEIVES RAP ADVICE FROM MISSY ELLIOTT

Doja Cat has surged in popularity in recent years, with big singles like “Say So” and “Kiss Me More” and three studio albums to her credit. She still believes, though, that she has to improve her poetic talents.

Missy Elliott, a pioneer before her, revealed how the brilliance of her peers motivates her to develop as a rapper during an interview with Interview Magazine.

“When it comes to rap, I could be better,” Doja Cat admitted. “I think everybody feels that way with their own art, in all kinds of ways. But I see all these incredibly talented rappers around me, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m doing pop, but I should focus on my pen now more than ever.’ I’m good, and I can be funny and charming, and I can do little punchlines here and there, but I need to talk about my life more, and about what’s going on.”

She continued, “There’s personal stuff that happens in my life that I don’t talk about in my music. I also kind of don’t care. I always felt like you cared about dancers, and you cared about sounds, and you’re not boring people to death with your personal life, or whatever is going on in your mind. Sometimes rappers can do that. They rap about how they’re sick and tired, and how they’re this and that. It gets boring after a while.”

Missy Elliott replied, “Sometimes you gotta take a chance. I never felt like I fit in, period. I don’t think there was a lane for the music that we did. The only reason they found a lane is because I was rapping over the tracks. But at first, I don’t think people understood the music. You’re starting to create your own lane. It probably won’t ever fit, but people will love it.”

Doja Cat also said that rapping is more difficult for her than singing since she doesn’t want to use stupid phrases.

“It’s harder for me to rap,” she said. “Sometimes I get writer’s block, because I don’t want to write something stupid. Sometimes I’ll write something and be like, ‘Why would I say that?’ Then I’ll restart, and eventually just give up. But when I do it right, I’m really, really happy about it.”

Missy Elliott added, “Well you’re great at both, so make sure you give them both love, because that’s a gift. Listen, everybody is not a bar rapper. When I’m hearing people, and they got mad bars, I love it. But I’m not that girl. I will say this, and I’m sure you probably feel this way too. If we sat down, we could do it. As a writer, you can sit and create those bars.”

IN RED STATE GEORGIA, YUNG BLEU SCREAMS RACISM ON COPS

In an Instagram post on Monday, Alabama rapper Yung Bleu accused Gainesville, Georgia police officers of racial profiling (August 23). When the owner of the firm phoned authorities, the “You’re Mines Still” musician said he was trying to acquire a trailer for his forthcoming tour.

“THESE GAINESVILLE, Ga POLICE OFFICERS are racially profiling us !” he wrote alongside videos of the incident. “They approached me and my team for absolutely nothing trying to buy a trailer for my tour at (Absolute Trailers) the owner was a old white guy who called the police talking about they suspect fraud ! I was just trying to buy a trailer !

“The first officers walk up with hands on guns . damn near drawn on us saying ‘What y’all doing here’ …We have a brief back n forth and then As I leave the cop is sitting in the middle of the highway waiting on us . They trap and get get behind me ! say my tag is obstructed but she clearly had her lights on way before she saw the back of my car ! 5 cars have pulled up on us since then ! Saying we do fraud and all type of lies !”

He added, “I HAVE MORE VIDEO BUT I will use only as evidence . We did nothing wrong !”

According to The Shade Room, Yung Bleu was arrested for a suspended license and cited for an April party. He admitted after posting bond that he never made it inside the trailer business and that he remained outside for 10 minutes before police arrived.

Following an apparent run-in last week, cops were summoned to investigate a possible fraud case, but Yung Bleu was originally permitted to leave the scene because investigators lacked sufficient cause. He was hauled over by another cop not long after that.

Bleu wrote in the comments, “They made that tag shit up to stop me u pulled me over before u even got behind me dumb and u smiling cuz u no u racist.”

DRAKE’S HOME ADDRESS IS EXPOSED BY KANYE WEST, BUT DRIZZY CAN’T STOP LAUGHING.

Kanye West is taking his fight with Drake to the next level, as their feud has continued to escalate over the weekend.

Kanye West took his next move in the early hours of Monday morning (August 23), revealing Drake’s home address on his Instagram account after appearing to tell him he’ll “never recover” following his verse on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal.”

Drake’s Toronto house number and street name, as well as its position on the map, were seen in a snapshot from Apple. Kanye has now taken down the post, but many of his 7.3 million followers weren’t quick enough to notice.

Drake quickly responded on Instagram Stories, casually laughing about the incident while driving a convertible.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1429724408172646401

Drake referenced Kanye West during his line on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” from his Trip at Knight (Complete Edition) album on Saturday (August 21), kicking off the latest back-and-forth.

“I done done it all, it’s like I’m Shawty Lo (Shawty),” Drizzy raps. “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/’Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone.”

It didn’t take Kanye West long to figure out what the songs were about. On the same day, Yeezy uploaded a screenshot of what seemed to be a group conversation with Drake, in which he posted a photo of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and a threat.

“I live for this,” Kanye wrote. “I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

Not only that, but Pusha T, Drizzy’s other foe, was also brought up in the chat.

Kanye West and Drake are both finishing up their albums, with Donda and Certified Lover Boy set to drop before the end of 2021, with the possibility of release dates clashing.

ON INSTAGRAM LIVE, DRAKEO THE RULER WAS ARRESTED AFTER HIS UBER DRIVER STOPPED FOR TINTED WINDOWS

On Sunday (August 22), Drakeo The Ruler was detained after his Uber driver was allegedly pulled up for tinted windows. As the incident progressed, the Los Angeles resident broadcasted the conversation on Instagram Live.

In the video, one cop warns Drakeo that if he doesn’t come out of the car, they’ll “do whatever it takes” to get him out before threatening him with jail.

Noticeably frustrated, Drakeo says, “This is crazy, bro. What the fuck is going on bro? What did I do? Y’all pulling over my Uber driver. What is going on?”

After another officer  orders him out of the car, he shouts, “Why are y’all pulling me over!? He said he pulled him over for tinted windows. This is an Uber driver, yo! This has nothing to do … what is he talking about? This shit is crazy, bro. What are we dealing with, bro?”

That’s when the officer notices Drakeo’s youngster in the car and tells him he’s going to pull him out, which Drakeo says,“What is going on, bro? What the fuck is going on right now bro?” Then, two masked officers start to put him in handcuffs as Drakeo screams, “What are y’all doing, bro!? I’m on Live!”

“If you don’t think the LA Sheriff’s and the LAPD have been watching Drakeo’s every move and IG story since he came home — and listening to every song — I have a tunnel on 2nd Street to sell you,” he wrote. “Who ever heard of someone getting pulled over on a Sunday morning at 11 a.m. with their toddler son, while riding in the back of an Uber, WHOSE ONLY VISIBLE CRIME WAS HAVING TINTED WINDOWS? It would be ridiculous if it wasn’t so glaringly sinister.” Thankfully for Drakeo The Ruler, his jail stint was short-lived. In the wee hours of Monday morning (August 23), Weiss tweeted he was “out on bail.”

In July 2019, Drakeo was declared not guilty of murder and attempted murder, but he was nonetheless imprisoned owing to two gang-related offenses based on the belief that his Stinc Team rap collective was a gang.

The jury was hung 10-2 and 7-5 in favor of acquittal on the gang-related counts, but the District Attorney’s office chose to retry Drakeo for those crimes, imprisoning him without bail for a year. He still faced life in jail if convicted on the murder and attempted murder counts, notwithstanding his acquittal.

He was freed two days later after the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office gave him an unexpected plea agreement for time served on November 2, 2020. The plea came only one day after Jackie Lacey, the Los Angeles County District Attorney, lost her re-election attempt.

The reason for his arrest has yet to be revealed, however his arrest is listed as a felony on the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department website, and his bond has been set at $35,000. His next court appearance is set for December 23 in Long Beach Superior Court.

DURING DRAMATIC ARREST, ‘WHO WANT SMOKE’ RAPPER NARDO WICK WAS TAKEN INTO US MARSHALS CUSTODY.

The U.S. Marshals reportedly apprehended Jacksonville rapper Nardo Wick (actual name Horace Bernard Walls III) on Wednesday (August 18). The 19-year-old wannabe rap artist and another man are shown sprawled facedown on the sidewalk as law enforcement officials surround them at gunpoint in video footage from the dramatic arrest.

His accomplice is handcuffed and brought away to an awaiting car, and Nardo Wick is treated the same manner.

He was detained on concealed weapons charges, according to a post from Akademiks, but no further information were revealed. “UPDATE: Nardo Wick Arrested For Concealed Weapon by US Marshals,” the message simply stated. According to court papers, the arrest is linked to a case that will be heard in 2020.

On the song “I Declare War,” Nardo Wick was featured on the 2020 soundtrack for Judas and the Black Messiah. He’s signed to RCA Records and had a hit with “Who Want Smoke” earlier this year, which placed him on the radar of G Herbo and Lil Durk. His music is mostly focused on pursuing his targets, and it’s not uncommon to see a lot of firearms in his videos.

Nardo Wick stated in an interview with Dirty Glove Bastard that he had to shoot the “Who Want Smoke” video twice because the original version contained too many firearms and he couldn’t advertise it on social media. Despite the loss, “Who Want Smoke” has received over 13 million views on YouTube.

Take a look at the video below.
