Jody Lo returns with his first release of 2022 with the album The Black Sheep Effect. The album weighs in at 12 tracks and contains two strong features from Young Buck (The Purge) & Yukmouth (Blackball) as both provide verses that compliment Jody Lo’s lyrical flow. The North Carolina artist has always had an ear for beats and that continues to be true as you dive into the album, finding yourself nodding to the lyricism and production that is brought to listeners on The Black Sheep Effect. It seems as if Jody has leveled up with this album as he continues to push the boundaries with his boom bap trap music, making this release his best out of his entire catalogue. Along with the release of The Black Sheep Effect, the artist decides to drop the music video to “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothes” to accompany the audio that can be found on the album. Other dope tracks from TBSE are the intro “Trilluminati”, “Millions”, “The Purge” and the outro “GOAT”. You can say what you want when it comes to artists and their consistency with releasing new material, but what you can’t say is that Jody Lo isn’t inconsistent as he goes two for two from the line with The Black Sheep Effect & the visual to “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothes”. The trap lyricist that is Jody Lo, brings 11 new tracks for you to start your new year off with. Backed by the single “Entanglement”, I Will Not Break the Scale is Jody’s first official album which features Ras Kass ajax, Constantine, KXNG Crooked and not to mention the Dogg Pound’s Kurupt on the track “Cash Out”. With over 7,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, the North Carolina native made sure his fans didn’t have to wait too long into the year for some new trap sounds to ride around to. It seems as if Jody is constantly working on his craft, as he has been consistent with his releases of new music since 2018. Jody breaks the scale with his first release of 2021 with each track’s backbone being held together with some dope production that lets Jody and each artist featured on the album lay their verses down perfectly. Out of the Quarantine is the latest album from North Carolina artist Jody Lo. The album weighs in at 9 solid tracks, backed by the singles ” Pressure”, “No Justice No Peace” and “50”. Leaving 6 new songs for fans and new fans of Jody Lo to get accustomed and vibe to. The artist finds himself spitting some hard hitting bars over production that fits Jody’s “lyrical trap” style while still speaking truths in his flows. Although the artist takes on a different style on songs like “Elevator” and “No Justice No Peace”, showing a more emotional side of the North Carolina rep, Jody is still able to stay on track with his lyrical abilities throughout both songs. Out of the Quarantine sees features from Vidal Garcia (Elevator), iAmDom (Never Changed) and Jahron (50) while including production from Malu, Young Askho and The Legion Beats.
