It might be difficult to choose a yearbook quotation for your final year of high school. 24kGoldn had his plans in place since he was a teenager, and he chose to use the chance to promote his SoundCloud account.

24kGoldn — born Golden Landis Von Jones – reintroduced his high school yearbook photo to his Twitter timeline as a way of reflecting on his early professional achievements.

“Look at my senior quote lol,” he wrote.

In high school, the 20-year-old was involved in a number of student groups, including serving as treasurer of the Senior Prom Committee and Habitat for Humanity. He was also a member of the Black Student Union and the Varsity Model United Nations.

After one year at the University of Southern California, 24kGoldn dropped out to pursue his musical aspirations full-time. With “Valentino,” which is now certified platinum, he got his first Hot 100 ranking when he was 18 years old.

He subsequently secured a record deal with Columbia Records and Records Label, LLC. With his infectious No. 1 single “Mood” starring Iann Dior in the summer of 2020, 24kGoldn burst onto the mainstream arena.

El Dorado, the San Francisco native’s debut album, was released in March 2021 and featured Future, Swae Lee, and DaBaby as collaborators.
