Desiigner’s lucky existence has landed him in the company of some fairly privileged people. In addition to Snoop Dogg, adult film star Kendra Sunderland, comedian Jay Pharoah, and the late Bob Saget making guest appearances on the New York rapper’s “Bakin” single, which he collaborated on with DJ Whoo Kid and Slushii, he also managed to secure guest appearances from adult film star Kendra Sunderland, comedian Jay Pharoah, and the late Bob Saget.
The video, which was directed by Red Fox Productions, features the veteran comic best known for Full House, America’s Funniest Home Videos, and a scene-stealing cameo in Half Baked as a money-catching chef who cooks bacon while Desiigner and Sunderland are nearby.
Saget’s cameo with Rolling Stone was dissected by Whoo Kid, who explained how the comedian’s arrival startled everyone on set.
“We needed a chef for the video and I remember thinking, ‘Who the fuck is gonna be the chef who can make it weird?’” Whoo Kid said. “Then immediately I thought ‘Bob Saget!’ Nobody on set believed me when I said he’d come until he actually drove up and rang the bell, like this was a Full House episode. When you have rappers pull up for videos, they bring a Maybach, or rent a Lambo, they show off. He shows up and parks his Lexus on the grass and comes in looking like a dad.”
Saget died in a Florida hotel room at the age of 65, and the colorful and joyful film comes about six weeks later. The actor died of significant head trauma caused by banging his head, according to an autopsy. When he died, he had no alcohol or narcotics in his system.
