California emcee Murs & Texas beatsmith Wiardon present “Flowers For Guru”, a 7/17 birthday dedication to late Gang Starr emcee Guru and the lead single from the forthcoming deluxe edition of Murs & Wiardon’s speak n spell EP, which adds several unreleased cuts as well as remixes from ProducerTrentTaylor and Balt Getty. The original version of the EP dropped last spring, spearheaded by the “Starting Lineup” single featuring Larry June and ICECOLDBISHOP (stream on Youtube). Murs is a trailblazer of first the West Coast then the global underground hiphop scene, going from selling cassettes of his music around the world with Living Legends to releasing albums with Warner Music Group, Def Jux, Rhymesayers, Strange Music and Dame Dash to name just a few. On October 13, 2016, Murs set a Guinness World Record for rapping for 24 hours non-stop during a live stream on Twitch. At age 16, Austin-based rapper/producer Wiardon broke wide on the music scene at age 16 with his debut release NUMBA1VIKTIM which took Soundcloud by storm. Wiardon says “I met Murs as a fan when I was super young and he followed me on social media and watched a lot of my growth as a musician so to be able to link up and do this project is special to me – shoutout murs and tim for reaching out and letting me be a part of this one.” Mid90s has set the release date of speak n spell: deluxe edition for August 11 – hip-hop’s 50th birthday.

(Album) Konquest – “Paranormal Raptivity”

Rising rap sensation Konquest just released his horror inspired hip-hop album from entitled Paranormal Raptivity. The album features artists Toka Hyrule, The MDz, Kae Franks, and Smoke to produce a bloodthirsty, serial killer level of intensity on Konquest’s Halloween hip-hop concept album.

The album includes the berserk fast-paced “Night Time”, which opens up with a distorted sample of Tiny Tim’s “Livin’ In The Sunlight, Lovin’ In The Moonlight” and dives deep into Konquest’s natural attraction to horror as subject for his material. Konquest writes, “I was never swayed by the swag movement. As you can already tell from my tattoo of Michael Myers, this Vampire bite tattoo on my neck etc., it was always horror and dark themed songs that did it for me.” The music video for “Night Time” was shot at All Saints Lunatic Asylum, a real haunted attraction where many have witnessed paranormal events before.

The album also has a variety of powerhouse collaborations including “Vampire Rave”, featururing Toka Hyrule & The MDz along with “Purge” featuring Smoke and Kae Franks. “Vampire Rave” is a monstrous party anthem highlighting pounding bass and dark opera backup vocals. “The more you run, the more I wanna bite you. Vampire party and I didn’t invite you.” “Purge” is an industrial beat with static police sirens that echo through the backtrack and magnetic rap flow.

“If you go back and listen to my past content, it can be realized that I was eventually going to end up diving full throttle into the Horror world.” He grew up in Inglewood, California where he fell in love with music through competitive freestyle battles which soon led him to the underground hip-hop scene. Inspired by artists such as Tech N9ne, Twista, Bone Thugs and Ghetto Boyz, Konquest brings a dynamic and irresistibly twisted sound to hip hop culture.

California Dreaming to A Florida Reality @Its_syvonne

Shalaine Powell was born and partially raised in Los Angeles, California an avid reader who had dreams of one day becoming an author. She eventually relocated to Carver Ranches, Florida where she was still determined to make this dream a reality. Shalaine’s love for urban fiction was a no-brainer as to which genre she wanted to pursue.

Shalaine penned her first book Karma’s Destruction in 2012 and self-published it in 2015 under the moniker S.Yvonne. S.Yvonne later signed to publisher David Weaver Presents, a sub-company under the Bankroll Squad Umbrella. Since then, she has written well over seventy books and eventually became an independent author. She is recognized as a National Best-Selling Author after consistently ranking as Amazon’s Best Seller in Urban Fiction.

S.Yvonne Presents her publishing company was relaunched in 2019. She currently has twenty-seven authors, some who are also National Best-Selling Authors, signed to her company. S.Yvonne prides herself on going above and beyond for not only herself but for her authors as well.

Every year you can find her traveling around the country for book tours and hosting her own. Interacting with her readers, supporters as well as other authors and publishers is something she looks forward to. She loves to sign books, take as many pictures as possible at these events, and just saying Thank You are some of her most favorite experiences.

What starts off as mother-and-son banter quickly morphs into an entertaining anthem all about dishing their funds the way they want. The catchy cut features a fresh West Coast beat that is funky and riding on hydraulics, creating the perfect soundscape for cooling and kicking it your way.

LA STAND UP FOR COMPTON’S OWN @OGCUICIDE “KNOW MY PAIN” FT @DANNYATOMS

“Know My Pain” is a powerful song about suicide awareness from Compton’s own OG Cuicide. The LA emcee has been using his voice and artform to take on depression and mental illness, both in and outside of South Central, for over 25 years.

Following a failed suicide attempt at 22-years-old, the aspiring rapper found a renewed spirit through activism, mentorship, and a decision to spend his second chance at life advocating for mental health and positivity. As of 2019, he is both proud and humbled to have been successful in encouraging hundreds of individuals to continue living through the struggle.
