Around two years after FBG Duck was murdered in the Gold Coast neighborhood, CBE KG, a member of the FBG Duck organization, was reportedly shot and killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend.
Online, there are several rumors that they were blood relatives. The caption of a tweet that is part of the post reads, “FBG Duck’s little brother was shot and killed in Chicago last night.” It also features emergency medical personnel at the scene with a stretcher.
The most recent murder adds to a frightening pattern of gun violence in the rap scene. One of the three victims targeted in the shooting in August 2020 was FBG Duck. According to police, they were shopping on Oak Street, which is home to several upscale department stores, when two cars arrived on the scene. Four individuals are said to have exited the vehicles and started shooting at the customers.
“At approximately 16:37 hours today, right here in the 100 block of East Oak Street, we had three individuals shopping,” Chicago Police Deputy Chief Daniel O’Shea told reporters at the time. “Two vehicles pulled up. Four individuals exited those vehicles, two from each vehicle, and began firing at the individuals that were on the sidewalk outside of one of the stores here. They also struck a female that was in one of the vehicles, which was also parked outside one of the stores.”
The neck, crotch, and chest of FBG Duck were shot. The Northwestern Memorial Hospital declared him deceased.
In a resurfaced VladTV interview, Duck admitted he knew his days were numbered, saying: “Of course I know muthafuckas wanna kill me. I’m a very disrespectful person. I know what I did in my lifetime. They don’t know because they don’t be out here with me. They don’t be on these blocks. You feel me? So they don’t know. Can’t nobody tell you shit about me like I could tell you about me.
“So it’s like, why would I put myself in a place where I know I ain’t supposed to be? So it’s like if I put myself in that place and I know I ain’t supposed to be there, then I know I’m looking for trouble. But I ain’t gon’ go nowhere I ain’t wanted ’cause I ain’t gon’ play with my life. My life mean a lot.”
“[The feds] just called me and told me they arrested Muwop, they arrested C-Thang, they arrested…two more, five people that they have in custody,” Weekly said in the video. “The lil boy who killed himself August the 24, he was one of the shooters. They shot my son, they just told me that … You heard it from me first. They got they ass. They got them muthafuckas.”
C-Thang, who had already been identified as the triggerman, Muwop, and DQ were the guys detained; Zell, one of the alleged shooters, committed himself. This story is still developing.
