T.I. allegedly struck Andrew “Drew” Taggart of The Chainsmokers in the face after kissing him on the cheek.
Taggart and partner Chainsmoker Alexander “Alex” Pall capture a recent meeting with the Atlanta native at a nightclub in a video posted to the EDM duo’s TikTok page on Tuesday (August 16).
The video, titled “When Meeting T.I. Goes Wrong,” opens with Taggart and Tip posing for a picture before cutting to the pair talking about the event in the backseat of a car.
Before acknowledging that the punch was appropriate, the Grammy winner adds that he kissed the Trap Muzik musician because he was “feeling the vibes way too hard.”
“T.I. just literally punched me in the face,” he says as Pall laughs in the background. “We’re in a vibe and I, like, gave him a kiss on the cheek — it was totally my fault.
“And he was like, ‘Don’t do that.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ He pushed me off and I was like, ‘Alright, my bad’ … And he was like, ‘Alright cool, we’re good.’ It was the weirdest interaction ever.”
He continues: “First of all, T.I. is fully in the right here. I was feeling the vibes way too hard and I kissed T.I. on the cheek. And he punched me in the face for it! It’s fully fine.”
T.I. still hasn’t commented on the video.
The head of the Hustle Gang, meanwhile, recently received an Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award for his charitable and volunteer work in Atlanta, where he was born and raised.
“In the grand scheme of things, we are only here on Earth in this life for a short period of time, and once we leave, people won’t remember the clothes we wore or the things we have,” he said at a ceremony at the Georgia State Capitol.
“We will only be remembered by what we meant to our family, our children and what we were able to do for others.”
In honor of his 4,000 hours of devotion to the country, T.I. also received the Volunteer’s Achievement Lifetime Award on President Joe Biden’s behalf.
