Big Sean reconnected with Hit-Boy behind the decks for his “What A Life” track and accompanying video, which will be released on Friday (October 22).
Joe Weil directed the video, which begins with Sean Don flying through the sky, describing it as “Goku type shit.” The Detroit native utilizes zen vibes to sit calm while an estimated 65,000 bees swarm his body as if nothing occurred, doing his best Candyman imitation.
Sean then moves through several life positions, including performing on stage at a concert, attending a wedding where all of the bridesmaids are armed with assault guns, and eventually becoming a football coach with Hit-Boy as his assistant.
With his fondness for the 1992 film, which was recreated this year, Big Sean found himself on the receiving end of a slew of bee-related jokes. On Twitter, Freddie Gibbs poked a little fun at Sean.
“Man I gotta get so rich I let bees sting me in the dick,” Gibbs joked.
Big Sean made a splash with his L.A. Leakers debut earlier this week, dropping a four-part freestyle with nine minutes of snarling bars. Nas was so taken by Big Sean’s scorching lyrics that he emailed him and expressed his admiration for his work.
“Nas just txt me saying ‘you murdered these freestyles thanks for pushing us all’ that’s crazy AF to me when I really thought about Nas txt’n me that, I’m at the crib right now in Detroit n I’m just feeling grateful I actually am doing what I said I would. Shit feel like a dream,” he wrote.
