Lil Duval may not be facing the same kind of backlash that Trick Daddy did with The Beyhive earlier this week, but he’s certainly feeling the heat on Twitter.
The rapping comedian sent out a tweet that said, “DaBaby is this generation Ludacris” in the early hours of Thursday (June 24), and Ludacris fans pounced.
While DaBaby has had a spectacular climb to fame over the previous several years, fans of Ludacris were enraged by the resemblance. Ludacris has been releasing hits since 2000, has several multi-platinum albums, stars in one of the most successful film franchises of all time (Fast & Furious), owns his own label (Disturbing Tha Peace), is the co-owner of Conjure Cognac Liquor, and opened his own restaurant called Chicken N Beer, which is named after his 2003 multi-platinum album of the same name.
This is only the top of the iceberg. Ludacris was one of the first Dirty South rappers to reach global popularity, earning an MTV Video Music Award and three Grammy Awards along the way, as pointed out on Twitter.
DaBaby has two No. 1 Billboard 200 albums – 2020’s KIRK and Blame It On Baby — as well as one No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song with Roddy Ricch, “ROCKSTAR.” Beginning with the track “Suge” in 2020, he was nominated for six Grammy Awards.
Despite DaBaby’s victories, Twitter found a method to make sure Ludacris won, sparking a heated argument in the process.
