Born in Camaroon, raised in Maryland and then to the Midwest, it wasn’t until he attended Lollapalooza that he believed he could be an artist. “Growing up I learned how to play a few instruments as well, but what I say really made me want to be an artist was after I went to Lollapalooza and got to see my favorite artist on stage. Made me believe I could do it.” He states.

Fast forward, he releases his newest single with a thumping 808 beat behind him. His cool smooth voice fills the song with melodic melodies and you can tell he’s talented by his on tune vocals has he rips through this song with a soulful rnb touch.

His hard work and dedication have not been without a long journey. Between school, work, and trying to intern with local and regional studios he’s also making music and working on an album and trying to reintroduce himself into the music scene. Ife Senoj – I H.A.T.E. U (Ft. Mister Aubs., Steve Legacy)

Midwest producer, writer, and artist Ife Senoj introduces himself to the world with his first single, “I H.A.T.E. U”. Ife Senoj who got his name off the movie “Love Jones” (“Ife” in Yoruba means “love” and “Senoj” is “Jones” spelled backwards.) says, “Have you wondered how men feel during times of conflict in their relationship? A lot of times men’s feelings get ignored, but we hurt also.” “I H.A.T.E. U, describes how three friends navigate through their “Love Gone Wrong” situations. It features artists Mister Aubs and Steve Legacy. Their collective talent and poetry brings a great balance of rap, rnb, and mixes different deliveries to give something ear catching to listeners.

Ife Senoj also known as producer Wes Muzik produced, wrote, and engineered the entire single showing a range of diversity when it comes to music. But he is no stranger to it. With a background in live instrumentation (drums) and a mother who plays multiple instruments and was church choir director, he knew music was in his blood.

When asked why Wez Muzik the producer made the switch to Ife Senoj the artist, he said, “ I think me being an artist is an extension of my production. I won’t say that I transitioned from one to the other, I think I just decided to utilize all of my gifts.” Indeed he has.

Who is Benny the Jet?

Iowa is the field dreams, and for Iowa City artist, Benny the Jet, his dreams are coming true.

Having worked with artists he calls friends such as popular independent artists Futuristic and Lex Bratcher, Benny the Jet has seen first-hand the hard work and dedication it takes to be independently successful and is ready to put the work in. That self-reflection and manifestation paid off as he was picked up by DJ K Yung, long time popular Midwest DJ for management and Brett “Bert” Johnson as his road manager.

All roads to musical success and achievement have not though, always been so clear and easy. Born in Los Angeles, California and having moved to Iowa City, Iowa at a young age, Benny the Jet has had to deal with not only the loss of his adopted father but also racism and discrimination. As an adopted biracial child, Benny the Jet turned to music as a release and homage to his family exposing him to the creative side of life. “I was adopted into a very theatrical family and that exposed me to a lot of different performance avenues. I grew up doing plays, musicals, choir, and band. I fell in love with Hip-Hop in my teenage years and started to pursue a career in music. “, Benny states.

Benny the Jet is set for his best year yet, as he has his sights set on his first EP yet to be titled and his release of his podcast “In the Cockpit” which has featured some well-known DJs, musicians, and artists. He continues to pursue every avenue in music and entertainment making his brand ever so stronger.

“Make A Change” – G Quick ft. T-Rell

G Quick – Make A Change ft. T-Rell Produced by: Mad Chemist

“Make A Change” is the latest single from up and coming artist, G Quick featuring Kansas artist T-Rell. Coming from East Moline, IL, G Quick’s latest release is about overcoming the problems that come along with living a fast life in the streets.

This track is not so much of a confession as it is a testament of someone who knows there’s something more than what street life has to offer, and searching for that something. “Make A Change” gives insight to the thoughts of a person that wants to right past wrongs, let go of a mentality and lifestyle that, while sounds good in the beginning, shows its ugly side in the end. The lyrics you can tell are coming from someone who knows when it’s time to evolve as a person for their family.

The T-Rell feature only enhances the song, as his hook brings a melody that compliments the Mad Chemist produced beat, while adding even more substance to G Quick’s subject matter, which can be felt by insiders and outsiders alike who know what it’s like to truly want to make a change for the better.

While I’m sure we’ll get more upbeat and turn up tracks from G Quick in the future, right now “Make A Change” is a welcome entry as he sheds what was and steps into what will be.
