“20K” showcases the difficulty of being a musician from the track’s opening line: ‘last month I made 20,000 dollars / how the fuck am I broke?’ The video features HD going from a broken-down van with no gas to performing in front of a sold out crowd, and displays the duality of “normal” life vs. playing shows around the world.
The success of his debut project, 2016’s Pheace Be The Journey, earned HD an opening slot for Portugal. The Man on their US tour. He’s performed at venues across Europe as well, and has shared the stage with the likes of Supa Bwe, Black Milk and Lil Xan. In 2019, he dropped singles like “BYRD,” “Cayman” and “Rev Run,” which have racked up millions of streams across all platforms, including his self-directed videos.
An enigmatic yet multi-faceted powerhouse, HDBeenDope pens clever raps over his own high-octane production. Working under his signature motto – LABB RATT: “Learn And Become Better, Receive And Think” – HD has dedicated his life to his music, deciding from the young age of 12 that he wanted to be a rapper. His undeniable energy has been featured by DJBooth, who praised his “crisp, effortless delivery well beyond his years.”
