S.Res.331 also declares August 2021 as Hip Hop Celebration Month and November 21 as Hip Hop History Month, in addition to August 11 as Hip Hop Celebration Day. The vote was carried out unanimously.

Following his sad death in April, the New York State Senate established December 18 Earl “DMX” Simmons Day in his honor.

Kanye West was given with a commemorative plaque backstage during his Donda listening party inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium earlier in July, declaring that July 22 will be eternally known as Kanye West Day in Atlanta.

Travis Scott, Mac Miller, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Bun B, Pharrell, Diddy, Trae Tha Truth, Rick Ross, and others will all get their own day.
