As a result of a tooth infection brought on by his diamond teeth, YNW Melly has asked for a medical leave of absence.
The Florida rapper, who wears diamond dental crowns, has an abscess in his lower jaw, according to court records acquired by Complex.
The crowns “require constant upkeep and at the bare minimum regular flossing and brushing.” according to Raven Liberty, Melly’s attorney. The rapper isn’t allowed to use dental floss, a conventional toothbrush, or go to the dentist often while he’s behind bars.
The “Loving My Life” rapper visited the medical center at the Broward County Jail, but it appears that the staff lacks the necessary equipment to clean or cure Melly’s condition. Because of this, Liberty said, “As a result, he has an abscess in his lower jaw that is creating extreme pain and chronic infection”
The rapper needs dental care to prevent the condition from worsening, and YNW Melly’s attorney has already located a dentist who will provide it. According to reports, the rapper has private insurance and the resources to pay for whatever costs the furlough may incur.
The judge has not yet made up her mind about whether to approve the rapper’s request.
Since his arrest in February 2019 on suspicion of two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his companions YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy in October 2018, YNW Melly has been imprisoned.
