TWO PEOPLE ARE KILLED AND FIVE OTHERS ARE HURT IN THE YO GOTTI RESTAURANT SHOOTING

According to reports, two individuals were killed and a number of others were injured in a shooting outside Yo Gotti’s Prive restaurant in Memphis.
Shots were fired just after the restaurant shut its doors at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, according to the Memphis Police Department (March 29).

The shooting, according to Memphis police, was the result of a dispute that broke out inside the eatery, they said in their statement.

One of the two male victims was discovered dead at the site, while the other passed away from his injuries at a local hospital.

Following the incident, five additional patients, four men and one woman, were taken to the hospital.

“On March 29, 2023 at 11:17 p.m. officers responded to a shooting outside 6980 Winchester,” the statement reads. “Two male victims were located. One was pronounced deceased on the scene and one was transported to [Regional One Health] critical where he was later pronounced deceased.”

“Five additional victims, four males and a female, arrived at area hospitals by [personally owned vehicles]. Prelim information indicates that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that started inside the club.”

Yo Gotti’s lawyer, Arthur Horne, explained that this was the first instance of this like to occur at Prive in a statement to the local Memphis news site WREG.

Horne further emphasized that the incident took place in the restaurant’s parking lot.

“On behalf of Prive, they’ve been in business for 10 years, and nothing like this has ever happened at their establishment,” he said. “It happened out in the parking lot, and it ended up in a shootout.

“Nothing happened inside the restaurant. Despite any conflicting reports, they were closing, and this happened at the end of the evening in the parking lot.”

Just eight months have passed since Memphis police prevented a mass massacre at Yo Gotti’s Birthday Bash concert.

At the time, Fox 13 Memphis claimed that a guy at the performance made multiple death threats after his girlfriend dumped him.

Gotti thanked everyone who helped the performance go smoothly and safely on Twitter, especially the Memphis Police Department.

“Thank you to the fans, artists and everyone involved behind the scenes for making Birthday Bash a smooth, secure and successful event,” the CMG mogul tweeted. “We were informed of a potential threat regarding an individual seeking to harm attendees leaving Birthday Bash that occurred 3 hours after our show ended.

“I would also like to thank the Memphis Police Department for their swift and proactive action in ensuring that all attendees returned home safely.”
